LAS VEGAS, Feb. 11 (UPI) — Travis Kelce celebrated his third Super Bowl with a long embrace and kiss of girlfriend Taylor Swift on the field of Allegiant Stadium after the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in Las Vegas.
“I’m on top of the world right now,” Kelce told reporters after the 25-22 victory. “It’s a good feeling.”
Swift sat in a luxury box, surrounded by fellow celebrities Blake Lively, Ice Spice and others for the majority of the game. She then made her way down to the field to celebrate the overtime victory with Kelce, his teammates and his family.
Swift, who won two Grammy Awards last week, completed a 6,000-mile trip to attend the game. She left a concert stage Saturday in Tokyo, stopped in Los Angeles and arrived at Allegiant Stadium about 2 hours before kickoff Sunday in Las Vegas.
Minutes after the game’s final whistle, Kelce found his mom, Donna, for an initial hug. He then looked at Swift, saying “come here girl,” before planting a kiss.
The victory ended a whirlwind season for Kelce, who watched his fame skyrocket since his union with his world-famous girlfriend. He said he didn’t think his 2023-24 season could top his 2022-23 campaign, which ended with a Super Bowl victory over his brother Jason Kelce’s Philadelphia Eagles.
“Just when you think things couldn’t get any better,” Kelce said. “Being on the mountain top with my brother was something special that I’ll never forget for the rest of my life. It brings me to tears even thinking about that moment … but what we had to endure with this team.
“To see the guys rise to the occasion and put stats aside … that’s something special.”
Kelce totaled a game-high nine catches for 93 yards for the Chiefs. He will head into the off-season as a champion for the third time in the last five years.
Swift will resume performances on the Eras Tour. Her next show is scheduled Friday in Melbourne.
