This time, the “Hitman’s Bodyguard” actress wasn’t flaunting her ageless beauty or perfect acting skills. She thrilled fans by displaying the flexibility she’s always had from being a gymnast.
Salma Hayek Flaunts Gymnastic Abilities In New Photos
The 56-year-old displayed her rarely-seen gymnastic skills in her latest Instagram post. She quickly struck a not-so-easy pose in the hallways of what looked like a hotel.
Hayek posed with one of her legs raised against the hallway wall, placing one arm on it to balance her head. The actress looked relaxed in the acrobatic position, proving her skills hadn’t aged a bit.
The “Grown Ups” star pulled off this pose, rocking a bright floral two-piece with black feather details at the hem of her pants. She paired the outfit with stylish black boots and accessorized with a long pearl necklace.
Captioning the post, Hayek wrote, “Me waiting for Spring, thank God it’s here!” adding the Spanish translation. Within minutes, the post’s comments section was blowing up with fans gushing about her flexibility.
One fan commented, “And she flexible!! Is there anything she can’t do ❤️” Another fan gushed, “Daaaaaang! She still got it.” A third admirer remarked, “Wow!!! You ageless beauty queen, your still this flexible.”
In case you didn’t know, the “House Of Gucci” actress has always had these gymnastic skills and once dreamt of making it her career. Previously, the Mexican-American actress disclosed that she wanted to be an Olympic competitor for the Mexican national team. However, her father, Sami, stopped her from pursuing her Olympian dream.
Speaking of her past dream, the “Eternals” actress said, “There was a road I didn’t take, which haunted me for many years. I was drafted for the Olympics in gymnastics when I was tiny. My father refused to allow me to go to a boarding school at nine years old in another city where I was to exercise six hours a day.”
Back in 2015, the actress shared proof that she used to be a good gymnast. Per People, the mom of one posted a throwback picture of her younger self doing toe touches in the air. The black and white photo captured a young Hayek in the air, her legs stretched wide and her fingers touching her toes.
In the caption, she wrote, “I wish I could still do that, but at least I have proof that once upon a time I was a #gymnast #ludscanov #gym #tbt.”
The “Grown Ups Actress Speaks On Her Acting Career Over The Years
Although Hayek’s Olympian dreams have passed, she has achieved a successful acting career. Two months ago, she talked about her career and its evolution.
As The Blast reported, the “Like a Boss” star talked about being typecast for only sexy roles in her acting career until her late forties. She said, “My entire life, I wanted to do comedy, and people wouldn’t give me comedies. I couldn’t land a role until I met Adam Sandler, who put me in a comedy film (Grown Ups), but I was in my forties!”
The wife of businessman François-Henri Pinault further shared a stereotype in Hollywood back in the ’90s. In her words, “You’re sexy, so you’re not allowed to have a sense of humor…”. Not only are you not allowed to be wise, but you were not allowed to be funny in the 90s.”
Hayek added that she used to feel sad about the limitations. However, things have switched, and she’s now “laughing” because of her tremendous success in the industry. She expressed, “I was sad at the time, but now here I am doing every genre, in a time in my life where they told me I would have expired – that the last 20 years I would have been out of business.”
The Academy Award nominee highlighted that she was now more than her sexuality. She said she had “built enough respect around me from the people that matter that I feel seen beyond that.”
