A really fun day of podcasts. No, not just my two daily ones, “The Daily Roundup” and the “The Sports Daily,” but I also am a guest on Courtney Robertson’s “Off Contract” podcast today where, if I’m being honest, some excellent tea is spilled by both of us. She spilled some tea I’d never heard before regarding Chris Harrison. And I tell a story that I’ve never told before EVER – either in my column or on any of the over 500 podcasts I’ve done. Once Courtney mentioned to me months ago that she was gonna start a podcast and have me on it, I told her I would wait to share this story because it has to do directly with her season. I know a lot of you are interested in the process of how I get spoilers, and pretty much anytime I give a spoiler (especially about the final couple), I can’t reveal how I know. I’d be outing sources. Well, the story I tell today has to do directly with a finale spoiler and the lengths I went to one time to get it. Still crazy thinking back on it now. But go listen to her podcast because there’s also some really good stories shared by both of us regarding Chris Harrison, Arie, Nick, and much, much more. “Off Contract” by Courtney Robertson and you can find it on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
(SPOILERS) Today’s Daily Roundup covers a podcast you don’t wanna miss today, an update on our new “Bachelorette,” and a social media app brought to my attention yesterday that, well, I go off on.

A “Bachelorette” update for you that I just heard about yesterday. At the time of the Women Tell All taping back on Feb. 24th, there was not any announcement regarding the “Bachelorette” made on that show. However, yesterday I was told that after the audience was gone, Jesse Palmer actually told Charity for the first time that she’s been named the “Bachelorette.” I assume that was filmed, so there’s a good chance next week on the WTA episode, they are going to show Jesse post-filming that day telling her she’s gotten the gig. And if that’s the case, then I think for the first time ever (and the original reports I was hearing about Bachelorette beginning to film sometime the weekend of March 17th), that show will start filming before the “Bachelor” ends airing. In fact, if we do get that next Tuesday the “official” announcement from ABC that Charity is the next “Bachelorette,” makes all the sense in the world for them to start filming next weekend.
That’d also mean that the potential guys will be released on the “Bachelorette” Facebook page next Wednesday or Thursday. Wonderful. I’ll be out of town and having to post the guys while in Vegas. It’s happened once before and, man, that just sucks. Last thing I wanna do when checking in to Vegas is have to worry about finding guys last names and IG accounts. Ugh. But I have a feeling it’s coming next week now so be ready. It also now makes the live ATFR on March 27th for Zach’s season even more interesting because if they bring Charity out to have her do her first live interview as the “Bachelorette,” she’ll already be roughly a week into filming, something we’ve never seen before. Might be a nice little twist to things actually.
I was looking back at this post by @BachelorData and realized in 2015-2017, three seasons in a row the winner got their first 1-on-1 date in episode 3. But it hadn’t happened since then – until this season when Kaity got hers in episode 3:
Does it mean much in the overall grand scheme of things? Probably not. But it’s always stuff like this which interests me and see if patterns develop. There was a time there when winners weren’t getting their first 1-on-1 til travel started. But now 2 seasons in a row (and 3 of the last 6, the eventual winner (or final woman because, you know, Susie) got theirs before travel started. It’s why I love @Bachelordata’s info so much. I could nerd out over this stuff all day.
