Podcast #335 – Interview with Amanda Stanton – Reality Steve

Once again, joined today by Amanda Stanton on the podcast, which I believe is the 3rd or 4th time she’s joined me. And you know what? Very little Bachelor talk and PLENTY of Taylor Swift talk. Although towards the end, Amanda shares a story about her time on Ben’s season during hometown dates that she’s never shared before. Which now has me wanting to text others in the franchise and see if they did the same thing. Pretty funny story and you wonder if it’s happened more often. Also, as I mentioned on Monday’s “Daily Roundup,” the lyrics to that shows theme song “Rave Up (Shut Up)” are not anywhere on the internet. You can’t Google them, nor can you can get them by pressing the lyrics button on your Apple Music. But lead singer of the Rave Ups, Jimmer Podrasky, answered that question in a Facebook Group page a month ago that someone sent along to me. So below are the lyrics to the song. For almost 40 years I never knew the lyrics. And if you would’ve asked to try and tell you the lyrics, I wouldn’t have come up with anything close what they are ha ha. But man, I’m so glad I know them now. I feel like a new person. Let me be. Anyway, thanks to Amanda for coming on this week as she will definitely be on in the future.

Earlier this week, I told the story about how the lyrics to the Daily Roundup theme song, “Rave Up (Shut Up)” can’t be found by Googling, nor do they come up on Apple Music when you press the lyrics button. Well, lead singer of the Rave Ups Jimmer Podrasky was asked what the lyrics were in a Facebook group a month ago, and posted them. So here you go. This is cut and pasted from what he wrote in the Facebook group. I never would’ve guessed these were the lyrics ha ha:

“Grow up,” my girlfriend used to say to me.
“Stand up,” be like a real man is supposed to be.
Redd-up* the rest of all your fantasies.
Rave-Up…it’s just a dream.

She says what I’m supposed to do.
I need good advice but I don’t need her.
I don’t need a job that I’m gonna quit.
Well I love you kid, but you’re full of shit.

Shut up. Rave-Up.

Be up…’cause being down ain’t being right.
Tear up some photographs if another time.
Redd-up the rest of all your fantasies.
Rave-Up, it’s just a dream.

She says what I’m supposed to do.
I need good advice but I don’t need her.
I don’t need a job that I’m gonna quit.
Well I love you kid, but you’re full of shit.

Shut up. Rave-Up.

*Redd-up is a colloquialism from western PA, meaning to tidy-up or “ready up.” I think it originates from a military phrase.
