American actress Diane Keaton has expressed her aversion to being in a relationship and marriage. Keaton revealed that she doesn’t date and enjoys being a single woman. She has two adopted children but has never been married.
The “Love and Death” actress divulged that she last went on a date about 15 years ago, joking that her suitors probably thought she was “too weird.” She also noted that Michael Douglas, whom she starred in “And So It Goes,” attacked her like a pitbull during a kiss scene in the movie.

Diane Keaton Is Satisfied With Single Life
In a recent interview for the May/April 2023 issue of AARP Magazine, Keaton stated that she loves being single and is “highly unlikely” to go on a date or start a new relationship anytime soon.
“I don’t date,” she shared in the interview. “I don’t remember anyone calling me and going, ‘This is so-and-so; I’d like to take you out.’ They don’t happen. Of course not.”
The “Looking for Mr. Goodbar” actress has previously been linked to several A-list celebrities, including Woody Allen, Warren Beatty, and Al Pacino, but never got hitched to them.
As recently as January, Keaton shared that she last went on a date about one and a half decades ago, saying her suitors probably find her weird.
“Let’s say 15 years… They probably just thought, ‘Enough’s enough…she’s too weird.’ I’m kind of odd, but I’m doing fine,” she said, per ExtraTV, after being quizzed by the host.
The actress added, “Someday… someone will marry me… Maybe one of these nice men today who have to deal with me today.”
Diane Keaton Is Glad She Never Married
In a 2019 interview with People magazine, Keaton expressed her joy at not being married, explaining that she wasn’t built for it.
“I think that I’m strange,” the Oscar award-winning actress shared. “I don’t know anything, and I haven’t learned. Getting older hasn’t made me wiser.”
In her fifties, Keaton adopted her daughter Dexter, now 27, and her son Duke, now 22. As her children have moved out in recent years, she has been forced to make do with the company of her pet dog, Reggie.
“Today I was thinking about this, I’m 73 and I think I’m the only one in my generation and maybe before who has been a single woman all her life,” she told the publication as she reflected on marriage at the time.
Keaton went on to share that she’s not saddened by the reality of her singlehood because “I think that I needed more of a maternal aspect.”
“I don’t think it would have been a good idea for me to have married, and I’m really glad I didn’t, and I’m sure they’re happy about it, too,” she continued. “I’m an oddball,”
She Shared A Montage Of Intimate Scenes With Actors
The actress debuted a steamy video of every make-out scene she’s had since she started acting on social media last Valentine’s Day.
She captioned the footage, “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO ALL THE MEN WHO WERE PAID TO KISS ME,” which included passionate kissing scenes with the likes of Michael Douglas, Keanu Reeves, Jack Nicholson, and others.
Keaton noted that they were all good and “weren’t enough” after being asked by a fan which one, in particular, was the best.
Diane Keaton Recalls Intense Kissing Scene With Michael Douglas
The “Annie Hall” actress once jokes that Michael Douglas, 78, had approached her like a Pitbull during their kiss in “And So It Goes.” The pair first worked together in a film in 2014, and Keaton revealed that she was surprised by how assertive the “Ant-Man and the Wasp” actor was with her.
“What was exciting about him was that he was sort of like a pit bull. He kind of attacked me. And in the scene there, I was acting sort of cautious, but in my heart of hearts, I felt the same about him and I wanted to just get right with it,” Keaton shared while on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
“But it didn’t happen that way because, of course, you know I’m a professional. So it worked out very well for the scene, but I enjoyed it.”
