We are going to talk a little bit about the YouTube interview yesterday with Rachel Riley. We found out yesterday or a couple of days ago that Kylie Russell, who was with Avon at the end of last season of Bachelor in Paradise, and then broke up with him because he cheated on her.
They got back together and then he broke up with her again. We’re going to talk about big brother last night. I don’t know if I want to say a shocking exit, basically got a 50, 50 shot of going home, but somebody, I think that everybody thought was going to last. Didn’t we’ve got some news in the streaming world.

Both The audio and the video on YouTube, because I went into about a, what, a five minute explanation yesterday in regards to me and where to look when I’m interviewing somebody, and then do I take myself off?
I did get a few people emailing me yesterday and I want to address their questions here on the podcast. One of them was, can you incorporate. Your music, your Thursday music that we hear on the audio version, the brave ups called positively lost me. Can you incorporate that into the beginning and end of your podcast?
That’s on video. I don’t think so because of this. I’m sure, I mean, I’m sure I could like it’s I’m, I’m able to do it, but just the interview of me talking to my guest, Rachel Riley yesterday is what my audio is that you hear of the interview. So if I play that in the video portion. When you get to the audio, you’re going to hear me do a five or 10 minute open, and then you’re going to hear the music play again, even though it’s playing at the beginning of the podcast, then you can hear it play again when I introduce her and then it’s going to play out at the end of my interview with her, but then I always end with a prerecorded ending and then that’s going to play itself out.
Then it’s going to play four times during the, and the audio portion of the podcast, I get you video. People want to hear it. But the audio portion, which is where a lot more people still listen to the podcast, it’s overkill, it’s too much. So that’s probably not going to happen. Someone else asked about moving back from my microphone so that I doesn’t look like I’ll be looking at my guests or I can get away with it because I’ll be farther away.
The problem with that is I’m going to have to keep moving back and forth in my chair to speak into the microphone. Cause the microphone is as far back on my desk as it can go without it falling. Now that can be diff that can definitely be taken care of once I get a mic arm, which attaches to my desk and I can, you know, like Dave Neal has my, my YouTube mentor, I just copy Dave and whatever he does, but I will get a mic arm at some point.
And I think that’ll help me. I’ll be able to move further back and talk to my guest. I won’t have to be as close as I am. So that could definitely help. But with my current situation and my microphone, no, I can’t move back because then once they start, I’m going to have to like scoot up again to chime in.
And then if they have another long answer, push my chair back. I just like, I don’t want to keep doing that, but I think starting next week, whoever my guest is, I think I’m going to do what I said, which is. Make them the focal point when they are giving a long answer. I’ll either minimize myself, so you’ll see me in the corner of the screen, or I’ll just take myself off.
And if I take myself off, that means I can watch them talk, because I would just be watching the screen and none of you would be seeing me that are viewing the YouTube, because I’m off the screen. Now, I know at some point I’m going to forget to bring myself back on and it might lead to some awkward pauses because they’re going to end an answer and I’m going to start talking and I’ll be like, Oh shit, I didn’t bring myself back on the screen.
So maybe one or two seconds of dead air, but I think that’s what I’m going to do. Not for every answer, but for ones where I know, okay, they’re going to, they have a story to tell. So I’ll just take myself off screen. So I think that’s the way I’m going to do it because yes, when I do talk to somebody, anybody who talks to somebody in person, or if you’re on a zoom call, you’re usually looking at them.
At a screen when they’re talking to you or in person, you’re looking at them when they’re talking to you. And I’m not doing that when I’m interviewing them. I’m looking at a camera and it feels impersonal and I just don’t like it. It’s just, I’m not used to it. Like I said, maybe this is just a me thing and maybe you guys are all like, why are you worrying about this so much?
Well, it’s just, I’m new to the YouTube game. I’m new to the video game here. And. Video interviews, and I just want it to look as best as I can. And when they are talking, if I am on the screen the whole time, if I’m not looking directly into the camera, it doesn’t look like it looks like I’m not even looking at them or paying attention and I don’t want it to look that way.
So we will get that fixed somehow, some way. All right. Did you see that Kylie Russell went on the golden hour podcast? That is Susan Knowles and Kathy Swartz from golden bachelor. And she basically told everybody for the first time, even though there were hints about it, because Kylie, when she went on Nick Vial’s podcast, basically it was obvious she would have taken Avon back.
They might’ve been dating at that time and she wasn’t being honest with Nick, but I can’t remember when that interview was, but reading the recap of what Kylie said on the golden hour podcast. She told everybody that she had rekindled her relationship with Avon, but then he broke up with her again. So this podcast was on Wednesday.
She said, recently, Avon and I decided to part ways, and she says the door is absolutely closed in their romance now. She goes, in the beginning, he was doing the work when they got back together. He was going to therapy. Ensuring that my move to San Diego went smoothly. He was there for me. He was providing for me.
It was great. Now, I don’t want to say she moved because of Avon, but don’t tell me that wasn’t one of the major reasons she moved. I do understand that a lot of the women from her season moved. Kat Izzo moved. Just Gerard moved. So I get it. That probably helped, but let’s face it. She moved because she wanted to be back with Avon.
And she wasn’t going to be able to do it if he was in San Diego and she was in North Carolina and they were just coming off him cheating on her. They just, no way that would have worked long distance. She would have been a paranoid mess because she wouldn’t have been around him, but it’s never smart to move for somebody, especially after they’ve already cheated on you.
Move for them if you’ve disablished like this is where we want to go in our relationship, but seems like wasn’t the smartest move to begin with. And then she said about a month ago we had a big tough conversation with him expressing to me, Hey, I’m doing all this. I want this to work, but I still feel like you’re holding back.
I don’t know if this is going to work anymore. And that was on the one year anniversary of them meeting on paradise. And then weeks after that, she said the relationship was really, really good. And she was considering going public with their romance, but Kylie was hesitant about hard launching because of the public scrutiny, noting that the last time she went public with him, even was, you know, the world shattered in front of me was her quote.
And she said before they, she could hard launch. She recalled she felt like he was having an energy shift. And then she said he chose to end things. She was shocked by his decision because they had had a similar conversation and we’re doing so after talking. And then she said, I don’t really want to speak for him, but basically what he had to say was some days he felt like he would wake up and he would think he had such great hopes for us.
Think what we were to get where we needed to be to have a forever future together. Other days he woke up and he was just like, there’s much damage that I have done personally. I don’t think our relationship will ever recover from that. He said, I didn’t deserve someone who was unsure about me and that’s why he was taking a step back.
So he gave her after breaking up with her or ending their relationship the first time around, because he cheated on her and she called him out and didn’t have anything nice to say about him after he cheated on her, he rekindled things with her and then gave her the, it’s not you, it’s me. I don’t want to come down on Kylie.
And clearly she had stronger feelings towards him than he had towards her. She said she basically. Was in love with him and she ended up having to go back to North Carolina, spend some time with family, but she’s back now and she’s, she says they’re over. Here’s all I’m going to say about this relationship.
I know what she has given us publicly. Went off on him when he cheated on her on social media. Then went on Nick Vial’s podcast and you can tell she was open to taking him back. She did take him back. He gives her the, it’s not you, it’s me. She still won’t say anything bad about him. She said she doesn’t have any hate in his heart towards him.
Hating her heart towards him. I know he’s a good person. I know he wants to be a good person and he’ll be the right person for someone else. Just not me. I wish him nothing but the best. This is just my prediction because it might not even come true. Cause he might move on himself. But if even ever came back to Kylie and said, man, I made a mistake.
I do think this can work between us. I’ve worked on myself. You saw me work on myself after the cheating scandal, we got to a point I got scared. She would take him back in two seconds. It’s just my opinion. And that’s unfortunate because he’s going to do the same thing to her again. If she ever did, he’s done it to you twice, come on.
There’s no, I’m just saying he might not even get to that point where he goes to her and says, I made a mistake. Give me another chance. He might not even get to that point. I’m just saying, if he did, I don’t believe her. He cheated on her and she took him back this time. He didn’t even cheat on her. And they were going well.
And he said, it’s not you, it’s me. Well, what if he goes back to her and says, you know what? That was wrong of me. I wasn’t thinking I want you back. She’d go back to him in a heartbeat.
