A recent breach has led to the leak of the highly anticipated premieres of “DAN DA DAN” and the “Ranma ½ Remake.” Both shows were set to debut in October on Netflix.
DAN DA DAN Premiere Leaked
The debut episode of “DAN DA DAN” was first shown at the Anime Expo. Fans can look forward to the English dub, which will be presented at Anime NYC in August. A special theatrical showing of the first three episodes is also planned. Unfortunately, the leaked version of the premiere, which includes timestamps and lacks subtitles, appears to have come from a Telegram channel. The opening theme by Creepy Nuts has also been widely shared on social media, creating a buzz among anime enthusiasts.
Ranma ½ Remake Leak Adds to Netflix Woes
The “Ranma ½ Remake” by studio MAPPA was another victim of this breach. The first and third episodes, albeit in low quality with timestamps, have been leaked. The world premiere of the first episode was scheduled for Anime NYC. This remake was announced earlier this year, with the first trailer released on July 17.
Additional Leaks and Future Releases
The breach also included Mononoke: Karakasa. This movie is part of the Mononoke franchise and will have its English dub titled Phantom in the Rain. The sequel, Mononoke Second Chapter: Hinezumi, will premiere in Japan on March 14, 2025.
Earlier this year, several titles from Crunchyroll’s Spring 2024 lineup were leaked. These included KonoSuba – God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Season 3 and Sound! Euphonium Season 3, among others. These titles were leaked before their official release dates during the Puerto Rico Comic Con.
The recent breaches highlight the challenges streaming platforms face in protecting their content. As the demand for anime grows, so does the need for tighter security measures to prevent such leaks.
