In this Big Think video, John Irving explains how to tell if you’re a writer. For Irving it had to do with the alone time he needed.
Irving was asked, “Did you know from an early age that you would be a writer.
Irving explains some “pre-writing moments” included a need to be alone. He says, “I had a need to come home from school myself and to be in a room by myself or in my grandmother’s garden by myself.
There is definitely an introvert and writing correlation.
Irving was also writing in a journal at a young age.
